Carmen Ohanian’s Syndicate Again Falsely Presented as ARF by “Asbarez” in Meeting with Sefilyan, Papian

In keeping with its contemptable practice since being usurped by an anti-ARF syndicate and being dropped as an official publication of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, “Asbarez” continues to try to misinform the public with false news, and create confusion in the community.

On April 28, “Asbarez” published a statement in Armenian purported to be by the “ARF Western United States Central Committee”, according to which the supposed “central committee” had met with Jirayr Sefilyan and Ara Papian and “discussed issues of mutual interest.”

Oragark has learned from the ARF Western United States of America Central Committee that it has not had any meetings with the mentioned individuals.  Rather, Sefilyan and Papian apparently met with a syndicate, including Carmen Ohanian, who have been expelled and banned from the Armenian Revolutionary Federation due to serious violations of the organization’s rules.  Carmen Ohanian’s syndicate has no affiliation with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. This is not the first time that “Asbarez” purports to represent Carmen Ohanian and her syndicate as a supposed ARF body. Last month, “Asbarez” and Pashinyan’s emissaries joined forces to misrepresent Carmen Ohanian as a member of the ARF when she met with Pashinyan’s ambassador in Washington.

The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) 34th World Congress (General Meeting) clearly stated that the only ARF entity operating in the Western United States region is the ARF Central Committee elected for a term of two years on July 18, 2021, at the ARF Western United States 55th Regional Convention. This entity is the only one authorized to incorporate the use of the ARF’s name and use its flag, insignia, and anthem.
