Any Other Self-Respecting Prime Minister Would Resign – Armen Rustamyan

YEREVAN, ARMENIA – During a question-and-answer session with the government in the Armenian Parliament, Armen Rustamyan, the political representative of the ARF Bureau and a Member of Parliament from the “Hayastan” faction, stated that they had been directed by the citizens gathered in the square to present a public demand for Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation.

Then Rustamyan read that demand:

“Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, has failed in defending Armenian interests in the negotiation process of the Artsakh conflict, bringing brought war and defeat.

“He admitted that he could have prevented the war and avoided thousands of victims, but he did not.

“In 2021, he promised to return the captives [Armenian prisoners of war held by Azerbaijan] in 1-2 months in June, but we still have prisoners.

“In his pre-election program, he promised to pursue a policy of clarifying the final status of Artsakh through the full realization of the right to self-determination. He insisted that the people of Artsakh could not survive under the subordination of Azerbaijan.

“Economic growth has been promised, but public debt, poverty, prices and deaths are growing.

“He did not fulfill many promises, the last of which had a tragic end.

“Pashinyan, who spoke out against dictatorship and stopping his motorcade under a red light and ceding to pedestrians as an achievement, killed a woman, and her unborn child.

“Nikol Pashinyan has no legitimacy nor a state mandate to make new concessions and must resign.

“In light of any of these revelations, the prime minister of any country that respects himself would resign. Is there an answer to this demand now or not?” asked Rustamyan.
