The Armenian Relief Society of Eastern USA mourns the passing of Unger Tatul Sonentz-Papazian, a devoted servant of the Armenian nation whose decades of unwavering dedication left an indelible mark on the Armenian community worldwide.
In 2015, the ARS Eastern USA Board of Directors honored Unger Tatul with the Society’s highest award, the “Agnouni Award,” in recognition of his steadfast service to the Armenian Relief Society and the Armenian people. A lifelong advocate for Armenian culture, education, and the Armenian Cause, Unger Tatul embodied the spirit of selfless leadership and humble service. He served the Armenian Relief Society for three decades, holding the roles of Executive Director and Archives and Publications Director.
Today, we remember a man whose life was guided by devotion, humility, and an unshakable commitment to his people. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
