“When this evil government speaks about sovereignty, territorial integrity, ‘real Armenia,’ or peace, and at the same time delivers hysterical speeches filled with insults, in response to this, dear compatriots, in recent days, almost every day, I and my colleagues have asked one question. We have said: if you are able, instead of making reckless statements, simply declare that you will never again concede any new territories from Armenia to Azerbaijan. And after several days of raising this question, today, in response to a question from one of the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol answered that yes, the three Azerbaijani territories that are under Armenia’s control, and he even referred to those territories by Azerbaijani terminology, will be returned to Azerbaijan,” Ishkhan Saghatelyan, representative of the ARF Supreme Body of Armenia and a deputy from the “Hayastan” parliamentary faction, said today in a video address.
“Can you imagine, people? The man is directly declaring that there are three Azerbaijani territories. Look, there is probably no case of state treason and state crime of this scale in world history. There is no such case in the world where a prime minister, and also a candidate for prime minister, comes before his people and says: give me your vote so that I can go and hand over new territories from the homeland to the enemy.
“And when we were saying this during this period, and when I was reminding people about it every morning or evening, many citizens and colleagues were saying that he would announce it and then hand them over. I was certain that he could not announce it, because he has a signed obligation, a pledge, and a promise before Aliyev: help me get elected, and the day after tomorrow I will return new territories.
“Therefore, dear compatriots, imagine that if he is reelected, he will say that he did not hand them over, the people did, because he had stated in advance that he was going to hand over territories, and the people gave him a mandate and trust for that. In this way, he will try to make the citizens who voted for him participants in this state treason, these concessions, and this state crime, and will try to make our compatriots accomplices in his betrayals.
“And by this logic, by the way, he is also trying to justify it by saying that these are Azerbaijani territories. Tomorrow or the next day he will come and say: who said that Sevan is Armenian at all? He will give it an Azerbaijani name and try to hand it over. The same with Tigranashen, the same with new sections of Syunik, and so on.
“Therefore, dear people, this is Aliyev’s puppet. He has long had no connection or relation whatsoever to Armenia, the Armenian people, or Armenian interests. We must put an end to all of this on June 7, break this chain of defeats, misfortunes, and losses, and bring the country out of this situation,” Saghatelyan said.
