Foreign Investment in Armenia Drops Sharply by 65% in 2022

During the first quarter of 2022, in the months of January, February, and March, foreign investments in Armenia were reduced by nearly 50 billion drams, or about 65 percent, according to recent data released by the Statistical Committee of Armenia.

In particular, huge declines have been noted in the investments of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which reduced its investments by 33.9 billion drams. Germany reduced its investments by 22.2 billion drams compared to last year, the Netherlands by 16.2 billion drams, Italy by 3.5 billion drams, Canada by 2.6 billion drams, and Japan by 1.9 billion drams.
