ARF Youth Participated in the 11th Congress of the General Union of Palestinian Students

The ARF Bureau’s Youth Office announces that the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Youth participated in the 11th National Congress of the General Union of Palestinian Students (GUPS), held in Beirut from July 29 to July 31, 2026.

The Congress brought together Palestinian, Arab, and international youth and student organizations to discuss political and regional developments, strengthen cooperation among youth organizations, and reaffirm international solidarity with the Palestinian Cause.

The ARF Youth delegation was represented by Sherilyn Diratsouyan from the Zavarian Student Association and Garen Hergelian from  ARF  Lebanese Youth Association.

During the Congress, as well as in meetings with Palestinian leaders and representatives of international youth organizations, the ARF delegation raised the issue of Artsakh, highlighting the forced displacement of the Armenians of Artsakh and their right to return to their homeland.  The delegation also emphasizing the necessity of the immediate and unconditional release of Armenian prisoners held in Baku.

As part of the program organized for international participants, the representative of Zavarian Student Association visited the Shatila Palestinian refugee camp, where she learned about the historical experience and ongoing struggle of the Palestinian people.

During the  closing ceremony of the Congress , the ARF representative delivered a message of solidarity with the Palestinian people and their just cause, emphasizing the role of youth and students in defending justice, national identity, and the rights of peoples.

Within the framework of the Congress, the President of the International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY), Sergio Amante, and the head of the General Union of Palestinian Students, Saif Aqel, visited the Apraham Ashdjian Youth Center. The meeting was also attended by Yeghia Tashjian, a member of the ARF Lebanon Central Committee.

During the visit, discussions covered the role of youth and student unions in the process toward a just resolution of the Armenian and Palestinian Causes, as well as prospects for future cooperation and joint initiatives.

The ARF Bureau’s Youth Office reaffirms that the active participation of the ARF Youth in international youth and student platforms is an important means of strengthening and developing cooperation with like-minded and partner youth organizations, as well as of presenting the Armenian Cause and the rights of the Armenian people in international circles.
