On Thursday, January 29, 2026, the Educational Committee of the Crescenta Valley Meher & Satig Der Ohanessian Youth Center will host a lecture on
“The Lebanese Armenians and the Lebanese Parliamentary Elections of 2026″ presented by Attorney Roupen Avsharian. The presentation will begin at 7:30 pm Pacific Time at Crescenta Valley Youth Center located at 2633 Honolulu Ave., Montrose, CA 91020.

Roupen Avsharian will present the current political and security situation of the Lebanese-Armenian community, on the eve of next year’s parliamentary elections, highlighting the results of his recorded electoral campaigns in 2018 and 2022. Mr. Avsharian will also reflect on the 35-year-old Taif Accord and the Lebanese contribution to its formation.

Roupen Avsharian has received his education at A.G.B.U.’s Demirdjian and then Hovaguimian-Manoogian Schools. Mr. Avsharian pursued higher education at the American University of Beirut. He studied Political Science and then law, receiving his Juris Doctor Degree from Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, California in 1995.  He has also received an MA degree in National Security Studies with emphasis on the Middle East from AMU at Charlestown, West Virginia, USA (2004). Mr. Avsharian has served as a Deputy Clerk of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County for several years and has spent more than 15 years providing legal services in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. He has opened up his own law practice in Glendale California, emphasizing on real estate law and estate planning.

Mr. Avsharian is a member of the National Security Committee of the Section on International Law of the American Bar Association and a member of the Middle East Studies Association. He has presented several research papers at academic symposiums on Middle Eastern issues in different countries. He has several publications regarding Lebanese Armenians.
