Armenia’s Defense Minister Says Armenia Has No Land Claims from Any Country

Defense Minister Suren Papikyan emphasized the Republic of Armenia’s stance of having no territorial claims against any country in an interview with Public Television on Friday, February 2.

“The Republic of Armenia has no claims to any country, has no territorial claims, and naturally, the goal and mission of our Armed Forces is to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia,” stated the Defense Minister.

Papikyan reiterated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s sentiments expressed a day earlier, when asked about his approach to the army’s mission.

In an interview with Public Radio, Pashinyan underscored that “the army’s mission should not be the restoration of historical justice but the protection of the country’s security.”
