Switzerland to Allocate $1 Million to Aid Armenian Border Communities

The Swiss government on November 23 approved the process of disbursing approximately one million dollars, (960,000 Swiss francs) in aid to Armenia to support border communities to mitigate the effects of recent military clashes. The information is provided in the message of the UN World Food Program.

“Switzerland provides immediate humanitarian and long-term economic assistance to Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor and Syunik regions.

REBCA’s 12-month humanitarian program will protect and restore the homes of people living in Armenia’s border communities and provide economic resources to build resilience against crises. The program focuses on 15 border settlements affected by the conflict, the enlarged communities of Vardenis (Gegharkunik), Sisian (Syunik) and Jermuk (Vayots Dzor), the needs of more than 1,000 households of which will be directly responded to,” the message says.
