Russia Again Reports Ceasefire Violation in Artsakh

Russian peacekeepers have again registered a violation of the ceasefire in Artsakh, according to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry, published on Tuesday, May 30.

“There was a violation of the ceasefire regime in the Martakert region. There were no casualties,” the report said.

An investigation into the incident is underway, the Ministry added. “The command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, together with the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides, is conducting an investigation into this fact,” the Ministry of Defense said.

Since December 12, the sole road connecting Artsakh to Armenia – the Lachin Corridor – has been blocked by Azerbaijan. Artsakh residents have reported food and fuel shortages, while hospital patients don’t have access to essential medicines, with only a handful allowed transfer to facilities in Armenia proper.
