On the evening of Saturday, September 16, a fundraiser event to support national and community services was held at the residence of Raffi and Maral Sarkissian. The event was at the initiative of the Central Committee of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Western United States of America (ARF WUSA).
More than a hundred members and supporters were present at the event. Hovig Saliba, a member of the ARF WUSA Central Committee served as master of ceremonies. In his opening remarks, he appreciated all the people who stand by the organization in these difficult days and called on everyone to continue their dedication for the benefit of our nation and homeland. ARF WUSA Chairman Daron Der Khachadourian welcomed and thanked the attendees for their presence and sponsoring the work of the region, and also briefly presented the political and social situation of our country, people and the community, especially in the context of the 44-day war and its consequences.
The first part of the event started with a duduk performance, which was then followed by the legendary Armenian singer Harout Pamboukjian and Karnig Sarkissian, the unparalleled performer of Armenian national and revolutionary songs. It should be noted that both Pamboukjian and Sarkissian asked for no compensation for their performances, willingly offering their performances in support of the activities of the organization.
A wonderful evening of national and revolutionary songs, spirit and dedication was held at the Sarkissian residence, where more than one hundred and fifty thousand were collected for community and national work.
