Nikol Pashinyan Was the One Who Left Artsakh Out of Negotiations

YEREVAN, ARMENIA – On June 3, during an interview with journalists, Armen Rustamyan, the political representative of the ARF Bureau and Member of Parliament stated, “It is assumed that per the processes in Brussels, there are steps being taken today in connection with the demarcation and delimitation process.”

Rustamyan was speaking to reporters after the failure of the special parliamentary sitting that the opposition had attempted to convene to force a pro-Artsakh resolution. The bill sought to affirm that Armenia would never agree to a status of Artsakh under Azerbaijani control.  Pro-Pashinyan parliament members boycotted the sitting and derailed the resolution.

“Nikol Pashinyan had said that in the coming days there would be demarcation and delimitation works, there were. I think next it will be around the “peace agreement”. The next meeting is scheduled for July-August. It is very likely that all this will be summed up in July-August and we will be confronted with the fact again ,” Rustamyan said, referring to concessions being prepared by Pashinyan’s regime on Artsakh.

According to Rustamyan, people who realize that Artsakh can never be part of Azerbaijan, should also understand that the way to avoid that path is the removal of the Pashinyan regime.

“For whom is it not clear that if Artsakh remains a part of Azerbaijan, there will be no Armenians left in Artsakh? The right to self-determination was exercised by the people of Artsakh, and their point of view cannot be ignored here. Artsakh followed the path of self-determination, the first phase of which was independence, after which Artsakh would decide whether to join [Armenia] or not. You should not jump from that process, because you make the entire path meaningless. Armenia does not present any positions or red lines today. Everyone is pursuing their own interests, there are geopolitical realignments, and Armenia is in a situation where the wind will blow in any direction,” Rustamyan emphasized.

According to Rustamyan, it is an indisputable fact that Nikol Pashinyan is the one who left Artsakh out of the negotiations.

“Have you seen the signature of Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan or Serzh Sargsyan [on any document] where Artsakh does not exist? The Madrid principles did not end with a document. Such a document was signed only by Nikol Pashinyan, this is a fact,” said Armen Rustamyan.
