May 28 Celebration in Glendale

May 28 should be a source of inspiration for new generations. The celebration of Armenia’s independence at all times, and especially today, should be celebrated with great pomp, as a motivation for future victories.

At the initiative of the ARF Western U.S.A. Central Committee and the Armenian Youth Federation (AYF), the 104th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Armenia was celebrated in Perkins Plaza at Glendale City Hall on Saturday, May 28, starting at 5:00 pm.

The event opened with a flag ceremony by the Homenetmen Scout Group, accompanied by Ara Sahakian singing the national anthems of the United States, Armenia, and Artsakh.. The event was attended by Glendale City Mayor Mayor Ardy Kassakhian and Councilmember Vrej Agajanian, who shared their heartfelt words with attendees.

The master of ceremonies of the event was Shant Najarian. Puzant Berberian delivered remarks on behalf of the Armenian Youth Federation, and the official part of the evening ended with a powerful message from Hratch Varjabedian, the representative of the ARF Western Europe Central Committee, who is visiting the United States.

Several of the community’s favorite singers were present, who excited the festive atmosphere. Ara Sahakyan raised the mood of the evening with his renditions of popular revolutionary songs.
