AYF-WUS Releases AYF Internship in Artsakh Application

The Armenian Youth Federation – Western United States (AYF-WUS) is now accepting applications for it’s third annual “AYF Internship in Artsakh” initiative.

Founded in 2018, the program gives diasporan Armenians the opportunity to participate in professional internship and volunteer placements in Artsakh over a six week period each summer – helping bridge the gap between diasporan Armenians and the people of Artsakh.

Accepted applicants will be matched with opportunities in a field of their choosing in Artsakh. Interns in the past have held positions in government, non-profit/non-governmental organizations (NGO), health and medicine, education, IT, and multimedia development roles. Interns live with one another and attend educationals, excursions, and forums following workdays and during weekends. While the cost of excursions and meals are partially covered, the AYF-WUS covers the full cost of housing. Interns must be at least 18 years old to apply.

“The internship in the Human Rights Defender’s Office, in a region filled with unexplored potential, was an experience I would not change for any other,” said first-year participant, Mane Grigoryan of Florida. Another participant, Sevag Injean of AYF Glendale Roupen Chapter, stated, “The 2018 Artsakh internship was an experience I will never forget. With the help of the AYF I was able to work hands on and interact with the concepts that I had learned in my classroom. Not only was I able to gain experience in my future field of work, I was able to do it all in my homeland.”

The deadline to apply is March 15, 2022. Applications will be processed on a rolling basis. The program will run from early August to mid-September. To apply, please visit https://www.ayfwest.org/internship.For more information, please email artsakhinternship@ayfwest.org.
