Ambassador Kvien’s Dissonance With The American Revolution

On the eve of our Independence Day, our Ambassador to Armenia Kristina A. Kvien made an utterly irresponsible statement during a televised interview in Yerevan. She said, “We believe and hope that it will be possible for Armenians in Kagorno-Karabakh to live under Azerbaijan.”

This is stunning and incomprehensive for any American who was about to celebrate the 4th of July and relive the Revolution that our Founding Fathers bequeathed us.

How devious can our Ambassador get, when she forgets that it was Patrick Henry who cried out, “Give me liberty, or give me death!”?

It is the same cry that the Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh are shouting, “Ազատութիւն կամ Մահ” (“Liberty or Death”).
We rejected British rule. We were determined to bring Liberty to our Colonies. We carried out a Revolution to make America “Land of the free and home of the brave.”

Do Armenians of Artsakh deserve anything less?

Thank God Ambassador Kvien was not living during our revolutionary wars, otherwise we would still be under British rule.

We had the right to reject British oppression and live free in our homeland. As Americans, we are obliged to encourage and support the same right for Armenians in Artsakh. Anything less is most unbecoming to an American diplomat.
