“3+3” Meeting on the South Caucasus Started in Tehran

A meeting of the “3+3” format on the South Caucasus at the level of foreign ministers has started in Tehran.

The parties will touch upon issues of regional cooperation in the political, economic, transport, energy, and security spheres.

During the meeting, it is also planned to discuss the Azerbaijani-Armenian normalization process.

The format itself involves the participation of Russia, Iran, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia, but Tbilisi said it does not plan to participate in the initiative.

The first meeting of the format was held in December 2021 in Moscow, but not at the ministerial level, but at the level of deputy foreign ministers of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey and the director general of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
