As the Pashinyan government entertains western proposals that omit the status of Artsakh, the ARF is working globally to raise the Artsakh self determination issue on international stage.

In an interview with Yerkir Media, ARF Bureau chairman, Hagop Der Khatchadourian explained that while the Russian proposals address Artsakh status, western proposals for Armenia-Azerbaijan peace have avoided the issue. However, that does not necessarily mean that they agree with Artsakh becoming a part of Azerbaijan. Der Khatchadourian explained that the ARF is working precisely in this direction now – to raise the Artsakh status issue globally.

In Madrid, Spain at the Socialist International Congress November 25-27th the ARF delegation met and exchanged views with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. ARF Bureau member, Artsakh National Assembly member David Ishkhanyan addressed the Congress and raised the issue of Artsakh’s right to self determination.

ARF Armenia Supreme Council member Hayastan Dashinq parliamentarian, Lilit Galstian participated in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly meeting in Warsaw on November 26th and raised the issue of Artsakh’s right to self-determination while demanding accountability for Azerbaijan’s war crimes.

While on a working visit to France, ARF Armenia Supreme Council chairman and National Assembly vice president, Ishkhan Saghatelyan met with French parliamentarian Sabrina Agresti Roubache who said that France must not condemn Azerbaijani aggression and not forget about Artsakh.

Meanwhile, in the USA, Canada and Europe the Armenian National Committee is lobbying their respective elected officials to raise the issue of Artsakh’s status both in legislation and policy.
